LA GESTIÓN EDUCATIVA SEGÚN EL PENSAMIENTO DE JAIME CAICEO: UN ENFOQUE HISTÓRICO
El siguiente artículo tiene como referente la labor realizada por un educador chileno, subrayando su pensamiento y su acción en la gestión educativa en los últimos cincuenta años, fundamentada en el hecho que, desde hace un tiempo, en el contexto de mejorar la calidad de la educación, uno de los aspectos en los cuales se ha centrado la discusión en Chile, es en la gestión al interior de las unidades educativas. En efecto, el liderazgo del Director asoma como uno de los aspectos importantes a considerar.
En este caso, el Dr. Jaime Caiceo Escudero, se ha destacado por el aporte en el ámbito teórico de la gestión educativa, investigando y elaborando artículos o libros, y por las acciones que ha realizado como líder educacional, impulsando la creación de instituciones (DUOC) o gestionando otras (Liceo Popular, Centro Técnico y Director Administrativo DUOC; Rector Colegio de los Sagrados Corazones, Colegio Santa Familia y Colegio Santa Isabel de Hungría).
La metodología utilizada es histórico-analítica; para reconstituir su pensamiento en gestión educativa y describir su acción y liderazgo directivos, se recurrió a la metodología histórica, investigando en fuentes primarias del autor y a entrevistas de testigos presenciales. A su vez, para determinar su pensamiento se realizó un estudio analítico de sus escritos.

Abstract:
The following article has as a reference the work done by an Chilean educator, underlining its thinking and action in the educational management in the last fifty years, based on the fact thet, for a time, in the context of improving the quality of the education, one of the aspects in which the discussion in Chile, has focused is on the inside of the educational units management. Indeed, the leadership of the Director appears as one of the important aspects to consider.
In this case, Dr. Jaime Caiceo Escudero, has stood by the contribution in the theoretical field of educational management, researching and preparing articles or books, and the actions he has done as an educational leader, promoting the creation of institutions (DUOC) or managing other (Popular School, Technical Center and Administrative Chief DUOC; Dean School of Sacred Hearts, Holy Family School and Saint Elizabeth of Hungary School).
The methodology used is historico-analitica; to reconstitute his thinking in educational management and describe its action and leadership management, we used historical methodology, research in primary sources the author and interviews of eyewitnesses. At the same time, to determine their thinking was an analytical study of his writings.
