KLEZMER E O VIOLINO: DO TEATRO YIDDISH À SALA DE CONCERTO
Klezmer refere-se a um género de música folclórica das comunidades judaicas asquenazes (cultura yiddish). Foi eternizado pelo teatro yiddish, a fim de ser conhecido por descendentes nascidos na diáspora que não viveram nas aldeias de origem. Posteriormente, compositores eruditos e instrumentistas aproximaram o klezmer à música ocidental, trazendo-o aos palcos e salas de concerto. A fim de conhecer e delimitar o klezmer, o presente artigo aborda, através da revisão de materiais escritos e audiovisuais, uma perspectiva história e conceituação deste género, em um percurso do shtetl (aldeia) ao palco, do teatro yiddish às salas de concerto.

Abstract:
Klezmer refers to a genre of folk music from the Ashkenazic Jewish communities (Yiddish culture). It was eternalized by the Yiddish theater, in order to be known by descendants born in the diaspora that did not live in the villages of origin. Subsequently, classical composers and musicians brought klezmer to Western music, bringing it to the stage and concert halls. In order to know and delimit the klezmer, this article approaches, through the review of written and audiovisual material, a history approach and conceptualization of this genre, in a journey from the shtetl (village) to the stage, from the Yiddish theater to the concert halls.
