JOVENS E ADULTOS COM DEFICIÊNCIA EM INSTITUIÇÕES ESPECIALIZADAS: QUESTÕES DA VIDA ADULTA
Este trabalho trata de um
estudo desenvolvido ao longo do curso de
licenciatura em Educação Especial/noturno, da
Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Durante
este período desenvolvemos uma pesquisa
cujo objetivo geral foi identificar a existência
de instituições especializadas que recebem
pessoas com deficiência após conclusão
do período escolar, verificando se ocorre a
preparação do sujeito para as questões da vida
adulta, bem como habilidades relacionada com
independência pessoal e social. A pesquisa
se constituiu em entrevistas semi-estruturada,
tendo como participantes os profissionais de
Educação Especial, Assistente Social e Terapia
Ocupacional de três instituições especializadas,
que tem atendimento direcionado a pessoas
com deficiência, localizadas na cidade de
Santa Maria/RS. A análise dos dados teve
como base algumas categorias que balizaram a
discussão dos resultados: Os primeiros passos
para a chegada do sujeito na instituição e a
organização dos profissionais; Autonomia e
Independência na Vida Adulta; e a Inserção
de Pessoas com Deficiência no Mercado de
Trabalho. Observou-se nas instituições, um
trabalho amplo que respalda as questões da
vida adulta, mobilizando a família e, de certo
modo, a sociedade para receber o sujeito com
deficiência no âmbito social e de trabalho,
buscando ainda desenvolver ou potencializar a
autonomia dos mesmos.

Abstract:
This work deals with a study
developed during the graduation course in
Special Education / night of the Federal University
of Santa Maria. During this period we developed
a research whose general objective was to
identify the existence of specialized institutions
that receive people with disabilities after the
conclusion of the school period, checking if the
preparation of the subject occurs for the issues
of adult life, as well as skills related to personal
and social independence. The research
consisted of semi-structured interviews, with
the participation of Special Education, Social
Work and Occupational Therapy professionals
from three specialized institutions, which are
addressed to people with disabilities, located in the city of Santa Maria / RS. The analysis
of the data was based on some categories that led to the discussion of the results: The
first steps towards the arrival of the subject in the institution and the organization of the
professionals; Autonomy and Independence in Adult Life; and the Insertion of Persons
with Disabilities into the Labor Market. It was observed in the institutions, a broad work
that supports the issues of adult life, mobilizing the family and, in a way, the society to
receive the subject with disability in the social and work scope, also seeking to develop
or enhance their autonomy.
