Abstract: This article, titled "Mathematical Games: Importance in Elementary School - Final Years - Using Concrete Playful Methodologies," aims to describe, based on literature, the main challenges and methods of playful teaching for mathematics education in contemporary Brazil. Teaching mathematics in Elementary School through playful games increases student interest and motivation, making learning more dynamic and meaningful. This approach helps overcome fear and anxiety about the subject, stimulates logical and strategic reasoning, and develops social skills such as cooperation and communication, while students apply mathematical concepts in a practical and contextualized way. The method used for data collection and for constructing results and discussions is based on a bibliographic review, also known as literary investigation. In reality, the literature was consulted to provide support for the topic, highlighting the opinions of different theorists regarding the relevance of concrete play in mathematics classes, alternating between the classroom itself and, when possible, the surrounding environment, also considering the student's knowledge from their daily lives. The results clearly indicate that mathematics teachers must and need to be concerned with, and simultaneously modify, their methods, approaches, and ways of teaching the mathematics curriculum. This is because students cannot learn and/or master mathematics solely through lectures or activities that, over the years, have become reliant on textbooks, which themselves may be outdated from a critical perspective that seeks a teaching and learning process grounded in quality and autonomy.
