O presente artigo, busca analisar a obra Jane Eyre, de Charlotte Brontë a partir da perspectiva da Estética da Recepção, destacando como diferentes contextos históricos e culturais influenciam a leitura e interpretação do romance. O estudo fundamenta-se no referencial teórico de Araújo, Figueiredo e Lago (2023), Araújo (2024), Jauss (1999) e Iser (1999), cujas contribuições permitem compreender o papel ativo do leitor na construção de sentido literário. A metodologia adotada é qualitativa, de caráter bibliográfico e interpretativo, envolvendo análise crítica da obra e revisão de literatura especializada. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, voltada para a reflexão sobre práticas pedagógicas que utilizam o romance Jane Eyre como recurso didático em sala de aula, promovendo o diálogo entre literatura clássica e formação leitora contemporânea. Os resultados apontam para a relevância da Estética da Recepção como ferramenta de mediação, capaz de aproximar estudantes de obras do cânone literário por meio da valorização da experiência estética e da historicidade da leitura.

  • Abstract: The present article, aims to analyze Jane Eyre, a novel written by Charlotte Brontë from the perspective of Reception Aesthetics, highlighting how different historical and cultural contexts influence the reading and interpretation of the text. The study is grounded in the theoretical framework of Araújo, Figueiredo e Lago (2023), Araújo (2024), Jauss (1999), and Iser (1999), whose contributions allow us to understand the active role of the reader in the construction of literary meaning. The methodology adopted is qualitative, bibliographic, and interpretative, involving critical analysis of the novel and a review of specialized literature. This exploratory research seeks to reflect on pedagogical practices that employ Jane Eyre as a didactic resource in the classroom, fostering dialogue between classical literature and contemporary reading formation. The results point to the relevance of Reception Aesthetics as a mediating tool, capable of bringing students closer to canonical works by valuing both the aesthetic experience and the historicity of reading.
