JANE AUSTEN: ROMANCES OU MANIFESTOS FEMINISTAS?
O machismo fez e faz parte da vida de todas as mulheres que já existiram e ainda vão existir. Pelo sistema patriarcal em que a humanidade foi construída, as mulheres já foram impedidas de trabalhar, de escolher seus próprios companheiros ou companheiras, seus corpos eram e são objetificados e suas mentes subjugadas. A autora inglesa Jane Austen, que viveu no período vitoriano imprimiu em suas obras, que fazem sucesso até os dias de hoje, sua indignação pela forma com que a mulher era tratada e era enxergada com utilidade apenas para o casamento e procriação. O presente trabalho procura analisar a figura feminina em Orgulho e Preconceito, Razão e Sentimento, Mansfield Park, Emma e Persuasão, cinco obras que a autora publicou em vida. Neste artigo é possível observar como a escritora usa da narrativa romântica e de personagens icônicos para fazer uma grande crítica à sociedade elitista da época. Em suas obras é possível observar como o único lugar digno para uma mulher estar no período vitoriano era o casamento e como o amor era deixado para segundo plano e as aparências eram tudo o que importava. É possível enxergar como Austen faz em todas suas obras uma crítica ao lugar que é imposto para a mulher e o que é esperado dela, sem que possa ter suas próprias vontades ou pensamento. O presente trabalho destaca a força da autora que lutou por meio de seus livros contra o patriarcado e que de uma forma irônica e sutil, disse tudo o que pensava sobre a instituição do casamento, homens, dinheiro e aparências. Austen confronta a misoginia e o machismo, e mostra a força feminina por meio de suas personagens.

Abstract:
Sexism was and is part of every woman's lives that's has ever existed or will exist. Because of the patriarcal system on which humanity was built, women has been stopped from working, from choosing their on partner, their bodies were and are objectified and their minds subjugated. The English female author Jane Austen, that lived in the Victorian period has printed in her novels, that are success until these days, her indignation for the way women were treated and seen usefully only for marriage and procreation. This present paper intends to analyze the female figure on Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Emma, and Persuasion, five novels that the author has publish in life. In this article it is possible to observe how the author uses the romantic narrative and her iconic characters to make a big critic to the elitist society of the time. In these books it is possible to observe how the only fitting place for a woman to be in the Victorian period was the marriage and how love was left in the background and the appearances were everything that matters. It is possible to see how often Austen does in every novel of hers a critic to the place that is a seen as a woman’s duty and what is expected from her, without her having opinions and thoughts. This paper highlights the strength of the author that fought through her novels against the patriarchy, and that with a ironic and sutil way, said everything that she thought about the institution of marriage, men, money and appearances. Austen confronts misogyny and sexsism and shows the famale power through her characters.
