ÍRIS DE FÁTIMA DA SILVA, UMA ‘PARAIBUCANA’ NA LUTA PELO FEMINISMO NEGRO E LÉSBICO
Íris de Fátima da Silva é uma mulher, negra e lésbica, nascida na capital paraibana João Pessoa, militante em prol das causas de gênero, raça, etnias, sexualidade e na luta política anticapitalista, tanto no Estado da Paraíba, como em Pernambuco. Em Recife, Íris se tornou sindicalista no SINDSAÚDE, defendendo com maestria sua bandeira de luta na “Maternidade Bandeira Filho”, no conhecido bairro de Afogados, onde seu trabalho militante lhe rendeu o título de Cidadã Pernambucana pela Assembleia Legislativa de Pernambuco. Este ensaio visa mostrar este trabalho brilhante de Íris em defesa das mulheres lésbicas, negras e pobres, assim como descrever a vida de resistência e resiliência diante das dificuldades enfrentadas nos dois estados onde vive e viveu.

Abstract:
Íris de Fátima da Silva is a black and lesbian woman, born in the capital of Paraíba, João Pessoa, activist in favor of causes of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality and in the anti-capitalist political struggle, both in the State of Paraíba and in Pernambuco. In Recife, Íris became a trade unionist at SINDSAÚDE, masterfully defending her struggle flag at the “Maternity Bandeira Filho”, in the well-known neighborhood of Afogados, where her militant work earned her the title of Citizen of Pernambuco by the Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco. This essay aims to show this brilliant work by Íris in defense of lesbian, black and poor women, as well as to describe the life of resistance and resilience in the face of difficulties faced in the two states where she lives and has lived.
