INVESTIGANDO CONCEPÇÕES E EXPLORANDO POTENCIALIDADES NUMA OFICINA REALIZADA COM A CALCULADORA CIENTÍFICA NAS AULAS DE MATEMÁTICA DO ENSINO MÉDIO
Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo
explorar as concepções sobre o uso da
Calculadora Científica e possiblidades deste
uso no processo de resolução de problemas
matemáticos. Foi realizada com alunos de
uma turma do 3º Ano do Ensino Médio de uma
escola da Rede Estadual de Ensino da cidade
de Afogados da Ingazeira-PE, Brasil, no período
de setembro/2014 a maio/2015. Trata-se de
uma pesquisa qualitativa, o estudo de caso foi
a metodologia de estudo adotada. Neste artigo
focaremos numa Oficina, para Apresentação da
Calculadora Científica. Os resultados apontam
para a não utilização da calculadora na sala de
aula, pela professora de Matemática da turma
pesquisada. Os alunos consideram que usar a
calculadora faz com que desaprendam a fazer
cálculos manuscritos, tornem-se dependentes
da máquina. A Oficina teve como objetivo a
apresentação da calculadora científica como
ferramenta de trabalho nas aulas de Matemática
do Ensino Médio, proporcionando aos alunos o
manuseio da mesma e a descoberta de utilidades
e funções, mostrando algumas potencialidades
de uso, algumas das funções disponíveis e,
possivelmente, mais utilizadas neste nível de
ensino. Com esta apresentação percebemos
que a calculadora foi uma “novidade” para os
alunos, que ficaram curiosos por compreender
sobre seu funcionamento.

Abstract:
The aim of this research was to
explore the conceptions about the utilization
of Scientific Calculator and the possibilities of
this utilization in the process of mathematical
problems solving. It was carried out with students
of a High School 3rd Grade class from a school
of the State Education Network from the city
Afogados da Ingazeira-PE, Brazil, in the period
from September/2014 to May/2015. This is a
qualitative research and the study methodology
adopted was case study. In this chapter, we will
focus on a Workshop, for the Presentation of
the Scientific Calculator. The results point to the
non-use of the calculator in the classroom by
the Mathematics teacher of the analyzed class.
The students consider that using the calculator
makes them unlearn how to make handwritten
calculations and become dependent on the
machine. The workshop aim was to present the
scientific calculator as a working tool in the High School Mathematics classes, offering
the students the handling of the calculator and the discovery of utilities and functions,
showing some potentialities of utilization, some of the available functions and possibly
the most used at this level of education. From this presentation, we noticed that the
calculator was a “novelty” for the students, who were curious to understand about its
functioning.
