Abstract: This study examines the significance of Differential and Integral Calculus (CDI) in higher education courses within the fields of Science, Technology, and Engineering. It underscores the complexity associated with teaching and learning this content, which frequently appears to be undervalued. This observation prompts a reflection on teaching practices. Qualitative research aims to understand how mathematical investigations can contribute to meaningful learning of CDI concepts. The results indicate that this methodology can help in the construction of more dynamic and reflective learning, where the teacher acts as a facilitator and the student as the protagonist of their own knowledge. The study suggests that the use of mathematical investigation activities can stimulate various skills in students, such as observation, experimentation, logical reasoning, critical thinking, autonomy and creativity, activities that make learning more attractive and engaging, promoting a more constructive educational environment. and effective. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers adopt teaching methodologies that include mathematical investigations in their teaching practices, aiming to improve the quality of student learning in CDI concepts.
