INVESTIGAÇÕES GEOLÓGICAS GEOTÉCNICAS PARA IMPLANTAÇÃO DA BARRAGEM SÃO BENTO DO UNA - PE
O estudo geológico-geotécnico associado à implementação de uma
barragem é complexo e envolve variadas etapas. Numa primeira abordagem
classifica-se a região geologicamente, tendo por base estudos e investigações préexistentes.
Posteriormente, com informações adquiridas em visitas técnicas,
define-se o plano de sondagens e identificam-se possíveis locais de empréstimo. As
prospecções geotécnicas classificam o maciço rochoso sob o ponto de vista
geológico-geotécnico, fornecendo informações de extrema importância para
suporte da solução tecnológica adotada. São em visitas técnicas, onde se avalia a
quantidade de material disponível versus distância ao eixo barrável e se identificam
possíveis jazidas de material. Após identificação dos locais de empréstimo, é
definido o corpo de ensaios, necessário para avaliação da qualidade do material
destinado à aplicação no corpo da barragem e/ou nas suas estruturas
complementares. Este artigo tem foco na pesquisa desenvolvida em prol da
elaboração do projeto básico da Barragem de São Bento do Una, no Estado de
Pernambuco. Após os estudos e ensaios elaborados, concluiu-se que o maciço na
zona de implantação da barragem apresenta características compatíveis com a
alternativa tecnológica escolhida e, por sua vez, também as jazidas disponíveis
apresentam material bastante competente, passível de ser aplicado na barragem.

Abstract:
The geological-geotechnical study associated to the implementation of a
dam is complex and involves different stages. On a first approach, a geological
classification of the region is made, based on pre-existing studies and
investigations. Subsequently, based on technical visits information, the foundation
boring plan is defined and extraction pit are identified. The geotechnical
prospections allow you to classify the rock mass under the geological-geotechnical
point of view, providing important information which supports the technological
solution adopted. The technical visits, permits you to evaluate the quantity of
available material versus distance to the dam axis, providing the information
needed to identify possible borrow pit. Afterwards, the group of geotechnical tests
necessary to evaluate the quality of the material for application in the dam or in it’s
complementary structures is defined. This article focuses the research developed in
order to elaborate the basic project of São Bento do Una dam, in the state of
Pernambuco. Based on the collected information and the geotechnical test results,
it was possible to conclude that the characteristics presented by the dam
implantation site are compatible with the technological alternative selected. On the
other hand, the studied material deposits revealed quite competent material, able
to be used on the dam construction.
