INVESTIGAÇÃO DO USO DE ÁLCOOL EM INDÍGENAS KARIPUNA
Este estudo objetivou investigar o consumo de álcool em indígenas da etnia Karipuna. Estudo transversal, realizado com 230 indígenas da etnia Karipuna, de 12 aldeias. Para investigação do uso de álcool utilizou-se o Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Teste (AUDIT), Questão Chave (QC) e o Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvment Screening Test (ASSIST). Realizou-se análise de frequência e o teste de qui-quadrado para testar significância dos instrumentos utilizados. Os resultados apontaram o uso problemático nas zonas 2, 3 e 4 do AUDIT, com um percentual de 40,5%, conforme o ASSIST, 26,6%, e o uso em binge mais de 4/5 vezes ao ano em consonância com a QC pontuou 42,2%; destes, 9,6% beberam em binge mais de 10 vezes no último ano. Por fim, esta pesquisa não pretende rotular ou estigmatizar os indígenas como alcoolistas, e sim nortear estratégias pautadas na compreensão de valores, atitudes e crenças indígenas, para que possam embasar ações e planejamentos de saúde

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate alcohol consumption in indigenous Karipuna people. Cross-sectional study carried out with 230 Karipuna indigenous people from 12 villages. The Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT), Key Question (QC) and Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvment Screening Test (ASSIST) were used to investigate alcohol use. Frequency analysis and the chi-square test were performed to test the significance of the instruments used. The results pointed out the problematic use in zones 2, 3 and 4 of the AUDIT, with a percentage of 40.5%, according to ASSIST, 26.6%, and the use in binge more than 4/5 times a year in line with QC scored 42.2%; of these, 9.6% drank more than 10 times in the last year. Finally, this research does not intend to label or stigmatize indigenous people as alcoholics, but to guide strategies based on the understanding of indigenous values, attitudes and beliefs, so that they can support health actions and plans
