Abstract: The constant demand for electric power in urban centers and industrial sectors drives the development of materials with suitable properties and cost-effectiveness, aiming to expand transmission and distribution networks. In this context, the objective of this study was to investigate the electrical and tensile mechanical properties with the addition of 0.3% Ni to the Al-0.5%Si alloy. An electrical resistance test was conducted, and the obtained data were converted to %IACS. Subsequently, a tensile strength test was performed. The results showed that Ni caused a slight reduction of 0.09% in the Al-Si alloy but led to a small increase of 0.23% compared to Al 1350. Regarding the tensile strength results, the presence of Ni resulted in an increase of 18.79% compared to the Al-Si alloy and 37.42% compared to Al 1350. Therefore, it was found that the addition of Ni caused little variation in electrical conductivity while improving the mechanical properties of the alloy.
