INUNDAÇÕES E O POTENCIAL USO DAS SIMULAÇÕES E MAPAS PARA A GESTÃO DE RISCOS
As inundações representam um dos fenômenos naturais mais recorrentes no mundo, afetando numerosas populações em todos os continentes. As inundações podem ocorrer de forma brusca ou gradual e devem ser compreendidas e monitoradas. Nesse contexto surgem novas ferramentas que por meio de simulações digitais possibilitam o reconhecimento das áreas de riscos e facilitam a tomada de decisão. É necessário um maior investimento nas áreas técnicas para ampliar as ferramentas de simulação e uso de mapas, em apoio aos modelos e representações das áreas com risco a inundações. Essa solução vem apoiar a redução de acidentes e perda de vidas causadas por inundações frente ao crescimento urbano e pressão antrópica sobre os recursos naturais.

Abstract:
Floods represent one of the most recurrent natural phenomena in the world, affecting numerous populations on all continents. Floods can occur suddenly or gradually and must be understood and monitored. In this context, new tools emerge that, through digital simulations, enable the recognition of risk areas and facilitate decision making. Greater investment in technical areas is needed to expand the simulation tecniquies and the use of the analyse tools and maps , in support of models and representations of areas at risk of flooding. This solution supports the reduction of accidents and loss of life caused by floods in the face of urban growth and anthropic pressure on natural resources.
