Abstract: Exogenous intoxication is characterized as a biological imbalance due to the association of one or more harmful agents that can manifest themselves in a clinical or laboratory manner, promoting deleterious effects on the body, and this condition occupies an important place in Brazilian emergencies and emergencies, due to its potentially life-threatening nature, leading to death within minutes, in many situations, depending on the toxic agent. The main objective of this present study is to describe the prevalence of exogenous intoxication in attempted suicide in the Brazilian population from 2013 to 2022, through the collection of data obtained by the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), notified in the IT Department of the Brazilian Unified Health System (DATASUS), seeking to demonstrate, in addition to data, the prevalence between sex, age and type of poisoning, also presenting the possible reasons for such events. This research provides considerably important results, raising an alert about the need for immediate public and governmental interventions that can be taken, thus contributing to the reduction, and understanding of the risks associated with exogenous intoxication and, it is hoped, ultimately, that this work can contribute to the scientific community by helping to prevent these events.
