Abstract: Introduction: Cardiorespiratory arrest (CPA) occurs when there is an abrupt interruption of systemic circulation and respiratory activity. This results in the absence of a pulse and a lack of chest movements inspiratory effects in a person with life expectancy, i.e., someone who does not have an intractable chronic disease or is terminally ill. Objectives: To conduct a literature review of previously published studies investigating the performance of the multidisciplinary team in the care provided to patients who have suffered cardiorespiratory arrest. Methodology: This study is a descriptive research, based on a review of the literature on professional care for individuals in cardiorespiratory arrest in emergency services. The bibliographic search was conducted in the PubMed, Scielo and MedLine databases. The selection of articles involved the analysis of titles and abstracts. After that, eight articles were chosen to be part of the review. Subsequently, all articles were thoroughly analyzed and data collection began. Results: The scientific evidence examined corroborates that the performance of the multidisciplinary team in the face of cardiorespiratory arrest is essential to reverse the clinical picture of the patient, , enabling rapid resuscitation and reduced risk of death. It is noteworthy that the professionals face physical and mental exhaustion during the performance of the resuscitation maneuver. To conduct and manage cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), it is crucial to have technical-scientific knowledge about the appropriate technique and drug interventions used, as well as to understand the importance of a quick approach to increase the patient's chances of survival. According to Brandão (2020), the multidisciplinary team plays a fundamental role in the face of cardiorespiratory arrest in the urgency and emergency sector. Therefore, it is imperative to apply the correct techniques and ensure effective communication between the professionals involved for agile and effective performance. Conclusion: The research showed that the incidence of cardiorespiratory arrest is constantly increasing, generating greater apprehension among professionals who provide care to these patients. This concern is centered on the need for an effective response, aiming to increase the chances of survival. An aspect highlighted by the researched authors emphasizes the importance of training and participation in courses by professionals. Knowledge of the specific characteristics of patients can contribute significantly to the cardiopulmonary resuscitation process, resulting in an improvement in the quality of care and, consequently, in increased survival rates.
