INTERPRETACIÓN DE LAS PRINCIPALES CAUSAS DE MORTALIDAD EN GESTANTES
El presente estudio identifico las patologías obstétricas más frecuentes que
ocasionaron ingresos y mortalidad en las Unidades de Cuidados Críticos durante
el año 2022 y pre pandemia. Se determinó que el mayor porcentaje de muertes
maternas ocurre en los países en vías de desarrollo. Tuvo como objetivo
Interpretar las principales causas de mortalidad en gestantes ingresadas en
Unidades de Cuidados Críticos. Con respecto a los Materiales y métodos: El
presente artículo tuvo un nivel exploratorio, observacional, transversal y
retrospectivo, de revisión sistemática, conforme a las directrices de la metodología
PRISMA 2020, se incluyeron artículos científicos con fecha de publicación del año
2022. Revistas científicas de las bases digitales: MEDLINE, COCHRANE,
SCIENCE DIRECT, SCOPUS. En los resultados se obtuvo un total de 541
artículos, que, tras pasar por la revisión exhaustiva, se seleccionó un total de 27
artículos. Se tuvo como conclusión que se pudo identificar que las principales
causas de muerte materna en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos fue la
hemorragia posparto, los trastornos hipertensivos del embarazo y la sepsis.

Abstract:
The present study identified the most frequent obstetric pathologies that caused
admissions and mortality in Critical Care Units during the year 2022 and pre-
pandemic. It was determined that the highest percentage of maternal deaths
occurs in developing countries. Its objective was to interpret the main causes of
mortality in pregnant women admitted to Critical Care Units. Regarding the
Materials and methods: This article had an exploratory, observational, cross-
sectional and retrospective level, of systematic review, in accordance with the
guidelines of the PRISMA 2020 methodology, scientific articles with a publication
date of 2022 were included. Scientific journals of the digital databases: MEDLINE,
COCHRANE, SCIENCE DIRECT, SCOPUS. In the results, a total of 541 articles
were obtained, which, after going through the exhaustive review, a total of 273
articles were selected. It was concluded that it was possible to identify that the
main causes of maternal death in the Intensive Care Units were postpartum
hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and sepsis.
