• Abstract: Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) is characterized by bleeding that deviates from the normal menstrual pattern and can have various causes such as hormonal imbalances, anatomical problems, coagulation disorders, medication use, and serious diseases like endometrial cancer. The normal menstrual cycle ranges from 22 to 35 days, with a duration of 3 to 8 days and an estimated blood loss of 30 to 80 ml. Any changes in these parameters should be investigated to prevent complications. Cervical cancer screening is performed through the Pap smear test, recommended for women aged 25 to 64 who are sexually active. This exam enables early detection of abnormal cells and Human Papillomavirus (HPV), preventing progression to invasive cancer and allowing effective treatment. This study highlights the importance of women’s body awareness to identify menstrual changes and abnormal bleeding, enabling early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Primary healthcare plays a key role in this process, helping to avoid invasive procedures and promoting comprehensive care for women. Additionally, the study addresses factors that facilitate or hinder access to diagnosis and treatment, including social and cultural aspects. Proper management of AUB is essential to improve women’s quality of life, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Finally, the study emphasizes the need for public policies and clinical practices that value women’s health at all life stages, ensuring prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatments for abnormal uterine bleeding.
