INTEGRALIDADE DA PRÁTICA PROFISSIONAL DO ODONTÓLOGO NO ATENDIMENTO ÀS PESSOAS COM DEFICIÊNCIA

A ‘integralidade’ como definição legal e institucional é concebida como um conjunto articulado de ações e serviços de saúde, preventivos e curativos, individuais e coletivos. Nesse contexto, noção de integralidade na medida incita, representa a forma de um paciente ser atendido em todas as suas necessidades. Dessa forma, podemos citar as pessoas com deficiência, que da mesma maneira necessitam do atendimento integral e multiprofissional. Sendo assim, este estudo teve como principal objetivo verificar se a integralidade auxilia no cuidado da saúde bucal da pessoa com deficiência. A pesquisa caracterizou-se como uma revisão de literatura. Para isso, através das bases de dados PubMed, Ebsco e Bireme, por meio dos descritores: Integralidade em saúde, Odontologia e Pessoa com deficiência foram selecionados 13 artigos, sendo que sete satisfizeram os critérios de inclusão. Foi observado que o medo do cirurgião dentista em atender a pessoa com deficiência e a falta de encaminhamento para outras áreas são os principais fatores que interferem no sucesso do atendimento multiprofissional. Dessa forma, neste estudo observou-se que a presença de uma equipe multiprofissional pode atuar de maneira positiva na saúde bucal do paciente com deficiência, porém, mesmo mostrando sua importância, o trabalho em equipe ainda é pouco realizado.

  • Abstract: ‘Integrality’, as a legal and institutional definition, is conceived as an articulated set of health actions and services, preventive and corrective, individual and collective. In this context, the notion of integrality in the incited measure, represents the way a patient is helped in all of his or her needs. Therefore, we can mention disabled people, who require integral and multi-professional service in the same manner. Thus, the main goal of this study was to verify whether integrality assists or not in the oral healthcare of the disabled person. The research was characterized as a literature review. In order to achieve that, through the use the databases PubMed, Ebsco and Bireme, using the describers: Integrality in health, Odontology and Person with disability, 13 articles were selected, in which seven of them satisfied the inclusion criteria. It was observed that the fear of the dental surgeon in servicing disabled people and the lack of the transference to other areas are the main factors that interfere in the success of the multi-professional care. Therefore, it was observed in this study that the presence of a multi-professional team may participate in a positive manner in the oral healthcare of the disabled patient, however, even after demonstrating its importance, the team work is still little executed.
