Abstract: This article aims to analyze the impact of the covid-19 pandemic in relation to food and nutritional insecurity in Brazil, especially in the northeast region of the country. This research will use bibliographic analysis to support the analytical elaboration of the text, also based on information and technical documents from research institutions related to the subject. In view of the 2nd National Survey on Food Insecurity in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Brazil, it is concluded that only 4 in every 10 families have adequate access to food, achieving food security. As a result, more than 58.7% of the Brazilian population faced some level of food insecurity, reflecting a regression to the levels of the 1990s. The persistence of the geography of hunger is evident, especially in the North and Northeast regions, with rates of 71. 6% and 68%, respectively, exceeding the national average. Hunger affects 25.7% of families daily in the North and 21% in the Northeast, compared to the national average of 15% and 10% in the South.
