INFORMATIZAÇÃO DAS BIBLIOTECAS DO INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE EDUCAÇÃO, CIÊNCIA E TECNOLOGIA DO PARÁ (IFPA): SISTEMA PERGAMUM, DA CONCEPÇÃO À AÇÃO
O presente artigo propõe relatar o
processo de implantação da informatização
das bibliotecas do IFPA utilizando o Sistema
Pergamum. Inicia com o histórico de
informatização do acervo das Bibliotecas
até os dias atuais, desde a sua implantação
até a necessidade da formação de uma rede
integrada de bibliotecas. Em seguida descreve
o Sistema Integrado de Bibliotecas Pergamum,
conceituando-o e caracterizando-o de forma
generalizada. Segue com as conceituações
e teorias sobre redes de bibliotecas, até a
abordagem sobre a implantação da rede
informatizada de bibliotecas do IFPA com
um relato de experiência da informatização
dos acervos das bibliotecas com o sistema
Pergamum. Os resultados mostram os impactos
positivos da implantação do sistema nas
bibliotecas do IFPA, tanto para os funcionários
da instituição, que passam a lidar com um
serviço formalizado e organizado, quanto para
os usuários, com a facilidade de acesso às
obras e a melhoria na qualidade do serviço.

Abstract:
The present article proposes
to report the process of implantation of the
computerization of IFPA libraries using the
Pergamum System. It begins with the history of
computerization of the Libraries’ collection up to
the present day, from its implantation to the need
to form an integrated network of libraries. It then
describes the Integrated Pergamum Library
System, conceptualizing and characterizing it in
a generalized way. It follows the concepts and
theories about library networks, to the approach
on the implementation of the IFPA computerized
network of libraries with an account of experience
of the computerization of library collections
with the Pergamum system. The results show
the positive impacts of the implementation of
the system in the IFPA libraries, both for the
institution’s employees, who come to deal
with a formal and organized service, as well
as for users, with ease of access to works and
improvement in quality the service.
