INFORMAR PARA PRESERVAR: A ARQUITETURA MODERNA NO BALNEÁRIO DE CABEÇUDAS
A Praia de Cabeçudas, na cidade
de Itajaí, foi um dos primeiros balneários a se
formar no litoral norte catarinense com o auxílio
governamental e também das elites industriais
do Vale do Itajaí, especialmente aquelas de
origem germânica. Desde a década de 1920,
até meados de 1980, aquela área funcionou
como um laboratório de arquiteturas. As
elites investiram em suas casas de veraneio
como símbolo de poder e inovação. Por este
motivo podem ser encontrados em Cabeçudas
alguns exemplares relevantes de Arquitetura
Moderna, produzidos entre as décadas de 1960
e 1970. Desta forma, o objetivo deste artigo
é apresentar estes modelos, promovendo
a valorização destes monumentos urbanos
comumente desconsiderados nas cidades
de pequeno e médio porte, como obras a
serem preservadas. Esta investigação vem à
tona em momento oportuno, pois através da
dissertação da pesquisadora Thayse Fagundes
e Braga sobre a formação do Balneário de
Cabeçudas e suas arquiteturas, defendida em
2014, o Ministério Público de Santa Catarina,
em dezembro do ano passado solicitou ao
IPHAN, a Fundação Catarinense de Cultura e
a Fundação Cultural de Itajaí, esclarecimentos
sobre a importância histórica e arquitetônica
daquele balneário. Este artigo, portanto, vem
complementar a investigação já iniciada sobre
Cabeçudas e fornecer informações acerca
daqueles exemplares relevantes de Arquitetura
Moderna que ainda não foram estudados.
Tanto os órgãos governamentais, a população
catarinense e a comunidade acadêmica são
beneficiados, com as informações inéditas a
serem expostas neste artigo, para defesa do
patrimônio e esclarecimento sobre a arquitetura
moderna em Cabeçudas.

Abstract:
Cabeçudas Beach, in the city
of Itajaí, was one of the first resorts to form
on the north coast of Santa Catarina with the
help of the government and also the industrial
elites from the Itajaí Valley, especially those of
German origin. From the 1920s until the mid of
1980s, that area worked as an arquitectural lab.
The elites invested in their vacation homes as a
symbol of power and innovation. For this reason
some relevant examples of Modern Architecture
examples can be found in Cabeçudas, and they were produced between the 1960s
and the 1970s. Thus, the aim of this paper is to present these models, promoting the
valorization of these urban monuments commonly disregarded in small and medium
size cities, as works to be preserved. This investigation comes to light at an opportune
moment, because through the dissertation of the researcher Thayse Fagundes and
Braga about the formation of the Cabeçudas balneary and its architectures, defended
in 2014, the Public Prosecution Service of Santa Catarina, in December last year
requested IPHAN, the Santa Catarina Foundation of Culture and the Itajaí Cultural
Foundation, explanations about the historical and architectural importance of that area.
This article, therefore, complements the research already begun on Cabeçudas and
provides information on those relevant examples of Modern Architecture that have not
yet been studied. Both the government agencies, the population of Santa Catarina and
the academic community can benefit, with the unpublished information to be exposed
in this article, for defense of the heritage and enlightenment of modern architecture in
Cabeçudas.
