Abstract: This study investigates the influence of pathological environments on the manifestation of situational psychiatric symptoms, exploring how the context can affect mental health and behavior. The research contextualizes this issue based on the limitations of traditional diagnoses, which often disregard environmental factors, and presents the central question of how interventions in dysfunctional environments can reduce psychiatric symptoms. The main objective is to understand the effectiveness of such interventions to improve mental health. To this end, the giftedean neoperspectivist paradigm was adopted, which considers absolute and relative truths, promoting an inclusive and contextual vision. Theories such as Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Theory and the Occupational Stress Theory were applied, along with the hypothetical-deductive method, with a Bibliographic and Documentary Narrative Review. The databases consulted included PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO and PsycINFO, resulting in 80 studies analyzed. The main findings point to the effectiveness of environmental interventions in controlling situational symptoms and highlight the need for contextual diagnoses. Gaps were identified in longitudinal studies and on the impact of social networks on mental health. Methodological limitations include the reliance on secondary data. The research contributes to science by proposing a more comprehensive diagnostic approach and adds social value by suggesting preventive and therapeutic strategies centered on the environment.
