INFLUÊNCIA DA FAIXA ETÁRIA, SEXO E NÚMERO DE ÓBITOS NA PREVALÊNCIA DE HOSPITALIZAÇÕES PELA DOENÇA DE ALZHEIMER NO BRASIL
A doença de Alzheimer (DA) é caracterizada por um transtorno degenerativo do sistema nervoso, que afeta as habilidades mentais, sociais, funcionais e cognitivas do portador da doença. O presente estudo tem o objetivo de avaliar o número de internações hospitalares por DA de julho de 2017 a julho de 2018 nas regiões do Brasil, verificando a influência da faixa etária, sexo e número de óbitos. Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico descritivo, cujos dados foram obtidos por meio de consulta a base de dados do Sistema de Informações Hospitalares (SIH) do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). No total houve 1.716 internações nacionais, e destes, o maior número de registros foi na região Sudeste, e o menor na região norte. O sexo dominante foi o feminino e a faixa mais acometida foi a população acima de 80 anos. O número de óbitos prevaleceu na mesma faixa etária e região com maior incidência de casos de internação.

Abstract:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by a degenerative nervous system disorder, which affects the mental, social, functional and cognitive abilities of the patient with the disease. The present study aims to evaluate the number of hospital admissions by AD from July 2017 to July 2018 in regions of Brazil, verifying the influence of age group, gender and number of deaths. This is a descriptive epidemiological study, whose data were obtained through consultation with the database of the Hospital Information System (SIH) of the Unified Health System (SUS). In total there were 1,716 national hospitalizations, and of these, the highest number of records was in the Southeast region, and the lowest in the northern region. The dominant sex was female and the most affected range was the population over 80 years of age. The number of deaths prevailed in the same age group and region with a higher incidence of hospitalization cases.
