INFLUENCE OF THE SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF NURSING TEACHERS
A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar a qualidade de vida dos enfermeiros docentes, relacionando com variáveis sociodemográficas. Estudo transversal, cuja amostra foi constituída por 44 docentes enfermeiros de instituições de ensino superior público, comunitário e privado de Goiânia-GO. Foram utilizados dois instrumentos: uma ficha de perfil sociodemográfico, laboral e de hábitos de vida (desenvolvida pelos pesquisadores) e o questionário de Qualidade de Vida da Organização Mundial de Saúde (WHOQOL). Os participantes tinham média da idade de ±45,23 anos. Houve prevalência de docentes do sexo feminino (86,4%) e com título de mestre (38,6%). A renda mensal individual média foi de R$ 9.379,00 (± 5.612,00) reais. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria dos docentes enfermeiros apresentou boa qualidade de vida e satisfação com a própria saúde. Alguns fatores prejudicaram a percepção da qualidade de vida destes docentes, como ter carga horária de trabalho semanal superior a 40 horas, trabalhar três turnos, utilizar celular antes de dormir, consumir medicação para dormir, ser mais jovem, ter maior renda e menos tempo de formado e de docência. Conclui-se que variáveis sociodemográficas influenciaram a qualidade de vida de enfermeiros docentes.

Abstract:
The objective of the research was to analyze the nursing teachers’ quality of life, related to the sociodemographic, labor and lifestyle habits variables. This is a cross-sectional study, and its sample was composed by 44 nursing teachers of public, community and private college education institutions from Goiânia – GO. Two tools were used: a file of sociodemographic, labor and lifestyle habits profile (developed by the researcher) and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (WHOQOL). The average age of participants were 45,23 years old. There was a prevalence of female teachers (86,4%) and with title of Master (38,6%). The average individual monthly income was R$9.379,00 (±5.612,00) reais. The findings showed that most of the nursing teachers presented a good quality of life and a great satisfaction with their own health. Some factors impaired the quality of life’s perception of these teachers, like having a weekly working workload higher than 40 hours, working three shifts, using cell phone before sleeping, ingesting sleep medication, being younger, having higher income and less time of graduation and teaching. The conclusion is that sociodemographic, labor and lifestyle habits variables influence the nursing teachers’ quality of life.
