INFÂNCIAS E CRIANÇAS COMO IMAGENS CINEMATOGRÁFICAS: CRIAÇÕES EM MOVIMENTO NA ESTÉTICA DO CINEMA
Este artigo discute a pesquisa realizada no âmbito de um projeto de iniciação científica, desenvolvido na Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba, com o financiamento de bolsa PIBIC do CNPq, cujo foco dirigiu-se à investigação das relações entre infância, criança e cinema, presentes em duas produções cinematográficas selecionadas sobre o universo da criança e da cultura da infância. Buscou-se entender como a infância e as práticas culturais da criança foram retratadas nessas produções, e como revelam as relações estabelecidas com as concepções que circulam na sociedade. Por um prisma, vimos que o cinema se estabelece como sistema cultural na produção de múltiplos discursos e representações sociais. Noutro prisma, observamos que as técnicas cinematográficas estabelecem afinidades com a brincadeira infantil na perspectiva de narrativas baseadas no conceito de montagem. O objetivo principal foi compreender concepções e imagens de infâncias e crianças no cinema, e analisar os modos como a linguagem audiovisual as constroem. Em relação à metodologia, a opção foi o estudo descritivo e analítico, com pesquisa bibliográfica e fílmica, em diálogo com estudos fundamentados em Walter Benjamin e Sergei Eisenstein, dentre outros.

Abstract:
This article discusses the research carried out within the scope of a scientific initiation project, developed at the Methodist University of Piracicaba, with funding from a CNPq PIBIC grant. The purpose of the project was to investigate the relations between childhood, infancy, and cinema in two filmic productions about the universe of infancy and the culture of childhood. We sought to understand how infancy and cultural practices of children were portrayed in these productions, and how the films reveal relationships established with conceptions of childhood in society. From one perspective, we saw that cinema is established as a cultural system in the production of multiple discourses and social representations. From another perspective, we observe that cinema narratives based on montage techniques show affinities with children's play. The main objective was to understand conceptions and images of children and childhood in cinema, and to analyze the ways in which they are constructed in audiovisual language. Our methodology was aimed at producing a descriptive and analytical study, involving bibliographical and filmic research, in dialogue with studies on Walter Benjamin and Sergei Eisenstein, among others.
