Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to investigate the geo-history of japanese-brazilian businesspeople in the context of Western São Paulo through an industry-territory-culture approach, emphasizing the aspects of immigration and development. We understand the territory of the Japanese-Brazilian industry by Japanese immigrants and their descendants in the country as a social product, place of life and economic relations. It is a product and condition for the articulation between historical time and coexistence. The West Paulista region-territory is historical and understood as an area and has certain natural/social characteristics that fostered industrialists: Japanese-prudentinos and Japanese-west.
