Abstract: This text aims to analyze how the inclusion process in secondary education has taken place in a public school in the municipality of Venâncio Aires (RS). Current legislation and theoretical studies, mainly from the perspective of Cultural Studies in Education and Foucauldian Studies, provide conditions for the analysis of empirical data produced through a virtual questionnaire, answered by eighteen teachers from the institution under investigation. Based on this qualitative research, focusing on the understanding and explanation of the dynamics of social relations, it was observed that the implementation of the inclusion process has caused changes in teaching practices and that this is due to: 1. Experience of inclusion, marked by inexperienced teachers, lack of theoretical and practical training, resulting in a lack of understanding of the concept; 2. Inclusion as an experience, in which singularities are identified, potential development is promoted and the need to standardize learning is overcome. The results also showed that, despite the advances made with the experience of inclusion, mainly accessibility, resource rooms and specialized professionals to support the learning process, the process requires, above all, more investment in ongoing teacher training. This is because, on the one hand, teachers understand that each individual is unique and that, precisely for this reason, has their own specificities, on the other hand, they understand education as a process in which students are protagonists of a common curriculum (common to all), whose learning needs to be developed and evaluated from a single perspective, bringing to light some contradictions in the perspective of inclusion as an experience.
