Abstract: This work aims to identify strategies for the inclusion of people with specific educational needs in municipal public schools in the municipality of Buritis, State of Rondônia. Although there is an entire legal apparatus that guarantees the inclusion of people with disabilities in regular schools, this has been a challenge for everyone involved with school inclusion, as inclusion involves a shared action with several actors. Descriptive qualitative research was carried out in three schools in the municipality and through the use of a questionnaire, interviews and observation with management, teachers and support staff, inclusion in their schools was assessed. The results showed that schools are implementing inclusion, but they still need to improve physical access, train teachers and support staff for people with disabilities, adjust the curriculum and provide learning-facilitating material that suits the specific needs of each student. Finally, it is concluded that inclusion goes beyond offering a seat in a regular school. It needs integration with other agents such as health, public policy, teacher training, training of support staff and society to provide subsidies and conditions for school inclusion.
