Abstract: The aim was to analyse the scientific literature regarding the inclusion of pupillary assessment in the Glasgow Coma Scale. To this end, a narrative review of the literature was conducted in December 2022. The review included articles, guidelines from the Ministry of Health, and abstracts published in conference proceedings, all published between 2000 and 2022. The search was conducted in the Google Scholar database. The inclusion of pupillary reactivity assessment in the Glasgow Coma Scale represents a significant advance in the assessment of neurological patients, contributing to the standardisation of terminology among teams and scientific research in this field.
