Abstract: Introduction: Syphilis is still a major public health problem in Brazil, caused by Treponema pallidum. The challenge is screening, diagnosis and treatment. For syphilis screening, the treponemal test, also known as rapid test, is very effective. Objective: to report the implementation of the control service for positive test results from treponemal tests, in a School Outpatient Clinic in the Serrana Region - RJ. Development: Rapid tests for serological screening have been carried out at the School Outpatient Clinic since 2011, however, to access the results it was necessary to consult the users' medical records, so that it was possible to be aware of monitoring and adherence to treatment. This process was not practical, if the patient did not undergo the complete treatment, there would be no information on the outcome of the case, making it difficult for the user to actively search. Based on the notifications recorded in the Disease Notification System forms, a spreadsheet was created to record all tests with positive results, which optimized the visualization of the registration and monitoring of patients. The implementation of the spreadsheet allows the professional to have a real perception of the positive results and adherence to the treatment carried out. Organizing the work process through the use of instruments that optimize time and assist in the effective monitoring of patients can be a strategy for reducing cases of syphilis. Conclusion: The spreadsheet is a product that allows for countless uses, of a managerial, assistance and educational and scientific instrument. Implementing instruments that can be used to produce local health indicators in an educational institution awakens the student's curiosity towards the macro possibilities that statistical studies in epidemiology provide. During the teaching and learning process, the use of soft and hard technology is a creative strategy to respond to the needs of everyday problems.
