IMPACTOS GERADOS PELA CONSTRUÇÃO CIVIL: O TEMA SUSTENTABILIDADE GANHA MAIS RELEVÂNCIA NO ENSINO DE GRADUAÇÃO EM ARQUITETURA E URBANISMO.
No final da década de 1960,
surge a necessidade do novo modelo de
desenvolvimento juntamente com as questões
ambientais. Pensando em minimizar os
impactos ambientais e consequentemente
diminuir os desperdícios das edificações nasce
a necessidade de mudança desse paradigma
com uma divulgação clara dos princípios
científicos e estéticos adjacentes ao tema,
buscando a correta aplicação de elementos
arquitetônicos e tecnologias construtivas. Com
essa preocupação e com os impactos gerados
pela construção civil, o tema sustentabilidade
ganha mais relevância. A modo que os
arquitetos e engenheiros tratam seus projetos,
desde a concepção até a implementação, reflete
diretamente na produção do ambiente construído
mais sustentável. O ensino de arquitetura
necessita urgentemente de fortalecimento,
disciplinas de educação ambiental e
sustentabilidade devem ser acrescentadas
nos cursos de arquitetura, assim como a
inserção em todas as disciplinas existentes
de consciência ambiental e sustentável. O
presente trabalho abordará a inserção dessas
questões nos cursos de Graduação e Pósgraduação
em Arquitetura e Urbanismo, sob
uma abordagem transdisciplinar, enfatizando a
abordagem ambiental e seu impacto no projeto
do ambiente construído e, por consequência,
no exercício da profissão de arquiteto. A própria
atividade da construção civil, acima apontada
como essencial para a sobrevivência humana,
é responsável por grande parte do consumo
de recursos naturais e energéticos, além de
emissões de resíduos sólidos, líquidos e gasosos.
Dessa forma, são fundamentais a reflexão,
o conhecimento e a prática de estratégias
aplicadas em direção ao desenvolvimento
sustentável. O ensino de arquitetura necessita
urgentemente de fortalecimento, disciplinas
de educação ambiental e sustentabilidade
devem ser acrescentadas nos cursos de
arquitetura, assim como a inserção em todas as
disciplinas existentes de consciência ambiental
e sustentável, enfatizando a abordagem
ambiental e seu impacto no projeto do ambiente
construído e, por consequência, no exercício da
profissão de arquiteto.

Abstract:
In the late 1960s, the need for a new development model emerged along
with environmental issues. Thinking of minimizing the environmental impacts and
consequently reducing the waste of the buildings, the need to change this paradigm
is born with a clear dissemination of the scientific and aesthetic principles adjacent to
the theme, seeking the correct application of architectural elements and constructive
technologies. With this concern and with the impacts generated by the construction
industry, the sustainability theme gains more relevance. As architects and engineers
treat their projects from conception to implementation, it directly reflects on the
production of the most sustainable built environment. Architecture education urgently
needs strengthening, disciplines of environmental education and sustainability must
be added in the courses of architecture, as well as the insertion in all the existing
disciplines of environmental and sustainable awareness. The present work will address
the inclusion of these questions in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in
Architecture and Urbanism, under a transdisciplinary approach, emphasizing the
environmental approach and its impact on the design of the built environment and,
consequently, on the profession of architect. The construction industry itself, which has
been identified as essential for human survival, is responsible for a large part of the
consumption of natural and energy resources, as well as emissions of solid, liquid and
gaseous wastes. In this way, reflection, knowledge and practice of strategies applied
towards sustainable development are fundamental. Architecture education urgently
needs strengthening, environmental education and sustainability disciplines should be
added in architectural courses, as well as the inclusion in all existing disciplines of
environmental and sustainable awareness, emphasizing the environmental approach
and its impact on the design of the built environment and, consequently, in the exercise
of the profession of architect.
