Abstract: Domestic violence, when it involves children and adolescents, is a severe violation of human rights that requires a coordinated and specialized response from the State and society. This scientific article considers the extent of domestic violence in the biographies of children and adolescents, focusing on the work of the Maria da Penha Patrol and ostensive policing as a tool for early identification, using techniques such as active listening and coordination with the protection network. The research is based on the analysis of statistical data, current legislation, especially the Maria da Penha Law (Law No. 11,340/2006) and the Henry Borel Law (Law No. 14,344/2022), in addition to scientific studies on the psychological, social, and educational impacts of domestic violence. Studies show that children and adolescents who are victims of domestic violence are likely to have mental health problems. The Maria da Penha Patrol emerges as a fundamental strategy for specialized ostensive policing, acting primarily in prevention, mainly through awareness, aiming at the early identification and monitoring of victims through a humane and technically qualified approach. The intersectoral network, made up of the Guardianship Council, Public Prosecutor's Office, Judiciary, CREAS, CRAS, mental health services and schools, plays a crucial role in protective monitoring and guaranteeing rights. The study highlights significant challenges in the coordination of the protection network, including the shortage of specialized courts, lack of professional training and limitations in the integration of data between agencies. It suggests improving public policies by expanding the Maria da Penha Patrols, strengthening the protection network, creating unified service protocols and investing in ongoing training for professionals. A humanized and empathetic approach to assisting victims, respecting their dignity and promoting active listening, is a fundamental element for the effectiveness of interventions and for breaking the cycle of violence.
