Abstract: Bacillus subtilis is a bacterium from the non-pathogenic gram-positive group, commonly used in the production of extracellular enzymes on a global scale. This bacterium received GRAS (generally regarded as safe) status by the American FDA, being one of the most studied, as its genome presents well-elucidated characteristics. In particular, the genus Bacillus spp. It stands out for forming an endospore and presenting a multiplicity of antagonistic mechanisms, thus enabling its long maintenance and survival in specific ecological niches, with great versatility in its mechanisms of action to circumvent the defenses of phytopathogens. The implementation of B. subtilis in the animal diet has a beneficial effect on the intestinal microbiota, increasing performance, growth and improving the feed conversion ratio. Therefore, this work's main objective is to carry out a bibliographic review on the main points related to the impact of the bacteria Bacillus subtilis on fish nutrition. Specifically, the benefits for fish farming, reflecting the productive performance of animals, increased survival, immunity, increased resistance to diseases, improved apparent feed conversion and protein efficiency rate.
