Abstract: Objective: to identify the main biopsychosocial impacts presented by patients undergoing bariatric surgery. Methods: integrative literature review carried out in the Medline, Lilacs and BDENF, guided by the research question: what were the biopsychosocial impacts presented in patients undergoing bariatric surgery followed by primary care? Results: considering the total of 32 articles from the last five years, in this review, the United States was the country that presented the largest number of publications (32.2%) and the journal with the largest number of articles used was Obesity Surgery (18.75%). Final Considerations: among the biopsychosocial impacts, the improvement of diabetes, hypertension, decreased use of antidiabetics and antihypertensives, favoring self-esteem and quality of life stand out. Among the negative impacts, nutritional deficiency and a possible increase in the consumption of alcoholic beverages stand out.
