Abstract: Electronic cigarettes (ECs) are devices that vaporize liquids containing nicotine and other compounds. Although initially considered less harmful than tobacco cigarettes, recent studies raise concerns about their cardiovascular safety. Exposure to EC vapor with nicotine can increase blood pressure, heart rate, and platelet thrombus formation. Additionally, compounds in e-liquids can produce toxic substances. Interventions and lifestyle changes have positive impacts on vascular health, but moralizing ECs can affect trust in scientific evidence. Neutral and informative messages are essential for formulating effective policies. In summary, while ECs may have potential benefits, addressing their cardiovascular implications with caution is crucial, promoting a balanced, evidence-based approach in public health.
