Abstract: Since 1998, the Transdisciplinary Gender Identity Program (PROTIG) at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA) has served transgender people seeking gender-affirmative treatment offered in a public health service specializing in gender in southern Brazil. This article aims to direct a discussion on the impact caused by the Coronavirus-2019 pandemic on the transgender population that has an active link with PROTIG, addressing the worsening of situations already experienced by this population, of inequality and vulnerability. The study is based on professional practice with the HCPA Transdisciplinary Gender Identity Program and reflections on the situation of greater social vulnerability faced by the transgender population in Brazil. The fight against Covid-19 caused suffering, anxiety and uncertainty everywhere in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Segata (2020).
