IMPACTO DA PANDEMIA CAUSADA PELO NOVO CORONAVIRUS NA SAÚDE MENTAL DE PACIENTES EM CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS
Os pacientes que estão em cuidados paliativos apresentam um alto índice de problemas associados a saúde mental. Atualmente, com a pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus e após a adoção de medidas de isolamento social, houve um aumento nos sintomas de estresse, ansiedade e depressão. Nesse trabalho, objetiva-se realizar uma revisão de literatura buscando identificar o impacto da pandemia na saúde mental de pacientes em cuidados paliativos. Para isso, a metodologia utilizada foi de uma revisão integrativa de literatura, a partir das bases de dados PubMed e Scielo. Os descritores utilizados foram: palliative care AND mental health AND COVID, e seus descritores em português. Foram identificadas vinte e duas publicações e selecionadas quatro, de 2020. Os critérios de inclusão incluíram: artigos completos publicados em português ou em inglês, em 2020, disponíveis online, que abordam os temas de paliativismo, saúde mental e infecções por coronavírus. Foram excluídos os trabalhos que não abordaram esses assuntos e sem pertinência ao tema. Como resultado da pesquisa, evidenciou-se que os pacientes que estão em cuidados paliativos apresentam fatores de risco para o novo coronavírus e medidas, como o isolamento, são indicadas. Entretanto, um estudo realizado na Alemanha, com oncologistas e pacientes oncológicos, retratou que 98% dos médicos acreditam que as restrições de visitas familiares têm um impacto negativo na saúde mental dos pacientes. Além disso, podem apresentar alterações cognitivas, emocionais e comportamentais causada pelo cenário pandêmico. Por fim, conclui-se que poucos trabalhos sobre os temas foram publicados até o momento, sendo que os divulgados indicam a influência negativa da pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus na saúde mental dos pacientes em cuidados paliativos.

Abstract:
Patients that are in palliative care have a high rate of problems associated with mental health. Currently, with the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus and after the adoption of social isolation measures, there has been an increase in the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. In this work, the objective is to conduct a literature review seeking to identify the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of patients in palliative care. For this, the methodology used was an integrative literature review, based on the PubMed and Scielo databases. The descriptors used were: palliative care AND mental health AND COVID, and their descriptors in Portuguese. Twenty-two publications were identified and four were selected from 2020. Inclusion criteria included: full articles published in Portuguese or in English, in 2020, available online, which address the topics of palliative care, mental health and coronavirus infections. Works that did not address these issues and without relevance to the topic were excluded. As a result of the research, it was shown that patients who are in palliative care have risk factors for the new coronavirus and measures, such as isolation, are indicated. However, a study carried out in Germany, with oncologists and cancer patients, found that 98% of doctors believe that restrictions on family visits have a negative impact on patients' mental health. In addition, they may have cognitive, emotional and behavioral changes caused by the pandemic scenario. Finally, it is concluded that few studies on the topics have been published so far, and those published indicate the negative influence of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus on the mental health of patients in palliative care.
