Abstract: HPV genomic integration plays a central role in the oncogenesis of HPV-related cancers, such as cervical, anal, oropharyngeal and penile cancers. This process contributes to the activation of oncogenes and the dysregulation of tumor suppressor genes, resulting in greater genomic instability and tumor progression. Clinically, integration influences tumor aggressiveness, therapeutic response and prognosis, in addition to impacting the immune response, favoring better results in immunotherapeutic treatments for some tumor types. Understanding its mechanisms and impacts is essential to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches that improve the management of HPV-associated neoplasms, providing advances in the prognosis and quality of life of patients.
