Abstract: Dysmenorrhea is characterized by uterine pain during the menstrual period and is the most common gynecological complaint among women and can be classified as primary or secondary according to its etiology. This complaint can impact the perception of the pelvic floor. Self-perception of the pelvic floor constitutes knowledge about the general anatomy, function and functionality of the pelvic floor itself, which is often a challenge for many women. This chapter presents the conceptualization, classification, clinical presentation and clinical implications of dysmenorrhea, fundamentals of perception and self-perception of the pelvic floor and the association between dysmenorrhea and self-perception of the pelvic floor.
