Abstract: Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological condition with high prevalence that significantly affects women's quality of life. The scientific community has long recognized the benefits of physical exercise as a preventive and complementary measure in the treatment of various diseases. In this context, physical activity has been proposed as a non-pharmacological strategy for managing symptoms related to endometriosis. Objective: This article aims to critically examine the existing literature on the relationship between endometriosis and physical activity, exploring its effects on related symptoms and outcomes. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in electronic databases, including PubMed, Scielo, and Lilacs, using relevant search terms related to endometriosis and physical activity. Results: The literature review suggests that physical activity may have beneficial effects on reducing pelvic pain, improving quality of life, and physical function in women with endometriosis. However, the heterogeneity of studies and the lack of standardization in assessment methods hinder the attainment of definitive conclusions. Conclusion: Although there is promising evidence regarding the benefits of physical activity for women with endometriosis, further research is needed to fully elucidate this relationship and establish specific recommendations regarding the type, intensity, and ideal duration of physical activity for managing this condition. A multidisciplinary approach, integrating physical activity as part of the care plan for women with endometriosis, may be crucial for optimizing clinical outcomes and improving the quality of life of these patients.
