IMAGENS DE CIÊNCIA E CIENTISTAS NOS FILMES “FRANKENSTEIN”
Os filmes comerciais apresentam um caráter construtivo, sendo capazes
de produzirem ou reproduzirem significados a partir das imagens que estão sendo
transmitidas. Com isso, este trabalho selecionou dez filmes com a temática
“Frankenstein”, considerado como um clássico do cinema, lançados entre 1910 e
2016. A partir da descrição e análise dos filmes, percebemos que a maioria das
representações de cientistas nestes filmes, são homens e pertencentes a famílias
ricas, sendo que em apenas dois filmes trazem cientistas mulheres em seu enredo
e,emapenas um dos filmes o cientista é uma criança. Em relação a profissão
destes cientistas, em oito filmes o cientista é um médico, enquanto em um é
estudante da escola básica e o outro é um estudante de filosofia natural. Enquanto
a imagem de Ciência presente no filme é basicamente experimental, pois o enredo
dos filmes acontece em torno do experimento de Victor. Consideramos ser possível
desenvolver atividades em sala de aula que proporcionem a discussão sobre as
imagens transmitidas de Ciência e, de cientistas nos meios fílmicos. A maneira
como o professor irá conduzir a atividade irá depender da faixa etária, da
maturidade dos alunos e os objetivos que o professor deseja alcançar com a
discussão do filme.

Abstract:
Commercial films have a constructive character, being capable of
producing or reproducing meanings from the images being transmitted.With that,
this work selected ten films with the theme "Frankenstein", considered like a classic
of the cine, released between 1910 and 2016.From the description and analysis of
the films, we realize that the majority of the representations of scientists in these
films, are men and belonging to rich families, being that in only two films they bring
female scientists in their plot and in only one of the films the scientist is a
child.Regarding the profession of these scientists, in eight films the scientist is a
doctor, while in one is a student of the basic school and the other is a student of
natural philosophy.While the Science image present in the film is basically
experimental, since the plot of the films takes place around Victor's experiment.We
believe it is possible to develop classroom activities that provide a discussion of the
transmitted images of Science and of scientists in the film media.The way the
teacher will conduct the activity will depend on the age group, the maturity of the
students and the goals the teacher wants to achieve with the discussion of the film.
