I'M GOING TO SCHOOL, WHAT NOW? FROM PRE-SCHOOL TO THE 1st CEB: CHILDREN'S BELIEFS.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo percecionar e compreender o pensamento da criança, da pré-escola, na sua transição para 1.º ciclo do ensino básico (1.º CEB). As mudanças entre estes dois níveis de educação formal originam grandes transformações na vida das crianças, tanto a nível cognitivo como social. É nosso entender que estas mudanças implicam desafios vários, de que são exemplo as alterações nas relações sociais na passagem para o ensino formal quer ao nível dos contextos e tipos de aprendizagem, quer no que diz respeito aos ambientes, espaços e tempos. O método utilizado foi o inquérito por entrevista, aplicado a 9 crianças, dos 5 aos 7 anos, em três momentos distintos, na sua transição entre a educação pré-escolar e o 1.º CEB. Os resultados obtidos mostram as crenças das crianças neste período, possibilitando ao educador/professor adequar as suas práticas pedagógicas às necessidades das crianças nesta fase tão importante das suas vidas.

    This work aims to perceive and understand the child's thinking, from pre-school, in their transition to 1st cycle of basic education (1st CEB). The changes between these two levels of formal education lead to major changes in children's lives, both cognitively and socially. The changes between these two levels of formal education lead to major changes in children's lives, both cognitively and socially. It is our understanding that these transformations imply several challenges, such as changes in social relations in the transition to formal education, both in terms of contexts and types of learning, and with regard to environments, spaces and times. The method used was the interview survey, applied to 9 children, from 5 to 7 years old, in three different moments, in their transition between pre-school education and the 1st CEB. The results obtained show the children's beliefs in this period, allowing the educator / teacher to adapt their pedagogical practices to the needs of children in this very important phase of their lives.
