ILUSTRAÇÃO PORTUGUESA E FÉ CATÓLICA: IMPACTOS NA CONSTRUÇÃO DO ESTADO NACIONAL DO BRASIL NO SÉCULO XIX
O trabalho se propõe a investigar
os impactos da fé católica na cultura da
Ilustração portuguesa disseminada através da
Universidade de Coimbra na construção do
Estado Nacional no Brasil. Parte-se da aporia
de que o modelo de Estado segregador, elitista
e pouco afeito à oportunização da participação
popular no Brasil do século XIX é resultado da
influência da ilustração portuguesa sobre os
principais sujeitos da história da independência
do Brasil. Neste sentido, espera-se contribuir
para o debate em torno da invenção da nação
no Brasil oitocentista no campo da História da
Educação e do Direito a partir de uma metologia
comparativa entre a cultura da ilustração no
Brasil e em Portugal.

Abstract:
The paper proposes to investigate
the impacts of the Catholic faith present in
the culture of the Portuguese Illustration
disseminated through the University of Coimbra
in the construction of the National State in Brazil.
Itispartoftheaporiathatthemodelofsegregating
State, elitist and little used to the opportunization
of popular participation in nineteenth-century
Brazil is the result of the influence of Portuguese
illustration on the main characters in the history
of Brazil’s independence. In this sense, we hope
to contribute to the debate around the invention
of the nation in nineteenth-century Brazil in the
field of History of Education and Law from a
comparative methodology between the culture
of illustration in Brazil and Portugal.
