ILHA DO COMBÚ E ILHA DAS ONÇAS: REFLEXÕES ACERCA DO TURISMO NA REGIÃO INSULAR DE BELÉM

As ilhas de Belém são um dos principais destinos turísticos de visitantes à cidade, promovendo experiências imersivas, que apresentam manifestações socioculturais, características da região amazônica. Com isso, frente a COP 30 a ser sediada no município e com o advento de outras grandes discussões quanto à sustentabilidade e proteção ao meio ambiente, o turismo na área insular, assim como seus impactos e a dignidade dos habitantes locais destacam-se como pautas relevantes a serem discutidas em prol da garantia os direitos humanos das populações residentes, uma vez que, paradoxalmente, essas pessoas sofrem com lacunas assistenciais que comprometem o bem- estar coletivo, ao passo que vivem em uma área de grande promoção turística e de grandes empreendimentos. Nesse sentido, o presente artigo objetiva provocar debates sobre o turismo praticado nas ilhas de Belém e descrever aspectos dessas ações que impactam nos direitos humanos das comunidades locais, sobretudo, na ilha do Combú e na ilha da Onças, desenvolvendo reflexões quanto aos impactos do turismo predatório em massa nas áreas insulares de Belém e a necessidade de promoção do turismo sustentável, que impacta nas dinâmicas socioambientais ali estabelecidas historicamente.

  • Abstract: The islands of Belém are one of the main tourist destinations for visitors to the city, promoting immersive experiences that present sociocultural manifestations, characteristics of the Amazon region. With this, in front of the COP 30 to be hosted in the municipality and with the advent of other major discussions on sustainability and environmental protection, tourism in the island area, as well as its impacts and the dignity of local inhabitants highlight as relevant guidelines to be discussed in order to guarantee the human rights of resident populations, since, paradoxically, these people suffer from welfare gaps that compromise the well-being be collective, while living in an area of great tourist promotion and large enterprises. In this sense, the present article aims to provoke debates about tourism practiced in the islands of Belém and describe aspects of these actions that impact on human rights of local communities, especially on the island of Combú and the island of Onças, developing reflections on the impacts of predatory tourism in mass in the island areas of Belém and the need to promote sustainable tourism, which impacts the socio-environmental dynamics historically established there.
