Abstract: The islands of Belém are one of the main tourist destinations for visitors to the city, promoting immersive experiences that present sociocultural manifestations, characteristics of the Amazon region. With this, in front of the COP 30 to be hosted in the municipality and with the advent of other major discussions on sustainability and environmental protection, tourism in the island area, as well as its impacts and the dignity of local inhabitants highlight as relevant guidelines to be discussed in order to guarantee the human rights of resident populations, since, paradoxically, these people suffer from welfare gaps that compromise the well-being be collective, while living in an area of great tourist promotion and large enterprises. In this sense, the present article aims to provoke debates about tourism practiced in the islands of Belém and describe aspects of these actions that impact on human rights of local communities, especially on the island of Combú and the island of Onças, developing reflections on the impacts of predatory tourism in mass in the island areas of Belém and the need to promote sustainable tourism, which impacts the socio-environmental dynamics historically established there.
