III-013 PERCEPÇÃO SOBRE A UTILIZAÇÃO DE MATERIAIS PLÁSTICOS DESCARTÁVEIS POR ALUNOS DE UMA INSTITUIÇÃO PÚBLICA FEDERAL DE ENSINO
O atual modelo econômico incentiva um elevado consumo, ocasionando um descarte excessivo e de forma imediata dos produtos descartáveis plásticos, devido à pouca durabilidade destes. Esse aumento na geração de resíduos acarreta em impactos negativos no meio ambiente, causando a morte de espécies da vida marinha, elevando a disposição inadequada em lixões, obstruindo sarjetas e bueiros. Logo, essa utilização excessiva provoca de forma geral poluição do ar, do solo e da água. Devido à relevância desse assunto e sua dependência da forma com que a sociedade percebe esse produto, é de suma importância que mais pesquisas sejam desenvolvidas na área, tendo em vista a escassez dessas produções científicas relacionadas ao tema em questão. Diante disso, o presente trabalho tem o objetivo de descrever a percepção ambiental de estudantes do CEFET-MG, acerca da utilização de materiais descartáveis plásticos. Para isso, foram aplicados questionários aos alunos da instituição. Com base nos resultados obtidos por meio do questionário, foi observado que uma parcela significativa dos estudantes conhece os impactos gerados por esses materiais no meio ambiente e as alternativas que podem substituí-los. No entanto, a prática dessas alternativas apresentou aderência equilibrada. Em relação à separação do lixo reciclável e não reciclável, essa prática é influenciada pelo acesso à coleta seletiva, embora uma quantidade relevante de pessoas possui acesso e ainda assim não realiza a separação.

Abstract:
The current economic model encourages high consumption, causing an excessive and immediate disposal of disposable plastic products, due to their low durability. This increase in waste generation leads to negative impacts on the environment, causing the death of marine life species, increasing inadequate disposal in dumps, clogging gutters and culverts. Therefore, this excessive use generally causes air, soil and water pollution. Due to the relevance of this subject and its dependence on the way society perceives this product, it is extremely important that more research be carried out in the area, in view of the scarcity of scientific productions related to the topic in question. Therefore, the present work aims to describe the environmental perception of CEFET-MG students about the use of plastic disposable materials. For this, questionnaires were applied to the students of the institution. Based on the results obtained through the questionnaire, it was observed that a significant portion of the students knows the impacts generated by these materials on the environment and the alternatives that can replace them. However, the practice of these alternatives showed balanced adherence. Regarding the separation of recyclable and non-recyclable waste, this practice is influenced by access to selective collection, although a relevant number of people have access and still do not perform the separation.
