Abstract: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are endogenous single-stranded RNA molecules with more than 200 nucleotides, capable of participating in various biological processes. However, they are still poorly understood in cervical cancer. The objective of this study is to identify lncRNAs associated with adverse prognostic factors in cervical cancer (CCU) through a literature review and in silico analysis. The following keywords "LncRNAs and cancer cervical" and "LncRNAs and Metastasis" were used in the PUBMED, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases. Twenty-six articles were selected and tabulated in Microsoft Excel 2019, containing information such as LncRNAs, expression level, biological function, clinical significance, miRNAs, and references. Next, the identification of miRNA targets of LncRNAs, signaling pathways, and miRNA target genes was performed using bioinformatics tools. LncRNAs were correlated with metastasis, and among them, 25 target miRNAs. Regarding the in silico analysis of target genes and pathways regulated by miRNAs associated with lncRNAs in CCU, the generated data revealed that these miRNAs regulate nineteen pathways related to carcinogenesis, such as the proteoglycan pathway, p53, and TGF-beta. Among the identified lncRNAs, GAS5 was observed as a potential target for therapy since, when downregulated, it exhibits sensitivity to cisplatin in CCU. In summary, this study identified lncRNAs associated with adverse prognostic factors in cervical cancer, highlighting the therapeutic potential of the lncRNA GAS5 in influencing cisplatin sensitivity, offering promising prospects for the treatment of this type of cancer.
