Abstract: The present study unfolds from research on laughter and humor in school education, where we discuss teaching and scientific literacy in intentional and interpersonal processes. Thus, drawing on frameworks that address the meanings and relevance of innovation, as well as the inclusion of humoristic resources and theater for education, this research aims to investigate the following issue: "How is the incorporation of humoristic resources understood by basic education science teachers when reconsidering them as a tool for students' scientific literacy?" To achieve this, starting from a qualitative research approach with exploratory descriptive objectives, we conducted, through a case study, online questionnaires for a group of teachers, questioning them about the relationships and possibilities of incorporating humoristic resources and theater into science education, analyzing them through post-hoc content analysis. In light of the above, it is evident the need for greater understanding among teachers regarding learning difficulties, as well as the need to (re)think theoretically and methodologically the integration of such resources into science education.
