Methods: This is a systematic review research in the Scielo, Lilacs, Bireme and PubMed databases, the inclusion criteria were articles dated between 2013-2023 and that talk about HPV and cervical cancer. Bibliographic Review: The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a virus with circular DNA of the papillomavirus family, whose genome has 8 protein-coding genes that can infect the basal cells of the cutaneous and mucosal epithelium. If this infection lasts and there is progression of the lesions caused by the microorganism, it can cause cervical cancer.
