Abstract: The implementation of school gardens has proven to be an effective practice in promoting environmental education and raising awareness about sustainability. These initiatives provide students with the opportunity to learn about topics such as environmental preservation, food production, and healthy eating habits through hands-on experience. Additionally, the school garden can serve as an interdisciplinary educational space that integrates various areas of knowledge, such as science, geography, and biology. This educational approach fosters environmental responsibility from an early age, encouraging sustainable attitudes that can be replicated outside the school environment. Based on bibliographic research, this paper aims to analyze the benefits of school gardens as a pedagogical tool and their contribution to environmental education, highlighting the challenges faced in their implementation, especially in urban areas. The proposal seeks to understand how these projects can be practically and efficiently incorporated into the educational context, contributing to sustainable development.
