Abstract: Navigating the intricate landscape of menopause, this review study delves into the multifaceted realm of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)—often considered a go-to intervention for alleviating disruptive symptoms and enhancing women's quality of life during this life stage. Beyond its effectiveness in addressing vasomotor symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats, HRT is also scrutinized for its potential in osteoporosis prevention and fracture risk reduction in postmenopausal women. However, the decision to embark on HRT is not without its caveats, including cardiovascular concerns, breast cancer risks, and venous thromboembolism. This study additionally sheds light on non-hormonal alternatives and lifestyle adjustments that can serve as complementary or substitute options for hormonal treatment. Current guidelines underscore the need for a meticulously individualized risk-benefit assessment, directing the use of HRT in appropriate dosages and for the shortest necessary duration.
